May

May was full of beautiful flowers! Much more than last year. Apparently this was because we had such a long, cold spring. Here are some of our spring flowers in the 'triangle bed'.

Here is our plant nurserie, as I suppose you all it. A cold frame covered with old windows.

In May I was prepping the area where the pigs have been for planting our kitchen garden there. I'm not sure if the digging and turning was really necessary, it felt a bit hard and packed that's why I did it. But overall I belief no-dig is the best approach to gardening.

But as with everything, we are still and continuously learning...

There was also a birthday to celebrate.

Our herb corner.

Anyone knows what these flies are that were quite everywhere in the garden for a couple of days?

I was impatient and probably planted the veggies out a bit too early, we will see how it goes.

Baby winter-squash.

Here we have some mint in the front, our two grapevines and a couple of tomato plants.

More tomato plants here and sunflowers.

We also finally bought two tents after trying to find them second-hand for quite a while without success. Now let the camping begin!

We continue to learn more about foraging. It's amazing how many edible plants there are around us and we didn't know about them! I also want to get better at drying them for winter.

More outside cooking is always on our to-do-list.

The first rhubarb pie, yum!

And lastly, a very rare family picture, taken by our dear friend Maria.

I hope you are enjoying June <3
